Sunday: Today was another wonderful day and we enjoyed our walk. During the walk we crossed an old Roman bridge that led to a little Pueblo furelos which has a very small church with a very significant crucifix of Christ reaching down to humanity with one hand while the other hand extends to his father. Saterday: Today we began in logonda and walked to the little village called Casa nova. Along the way we took a side trip to visit a 12th-century Romantica church built by a local wealthy family and was occupied by the knights of Santiago a similar group to the Knights Templar. Along the trail we interrupted a wedding being conducted on the trail. We finished the day having walked about 22 km. Posted on October 21, 2012 by Karl Fillauer
Friday: today with directions from a fellow pelegrino,we walked to Ligonde, a small pueblo. Today was perfect for walking 65° and clear skies. Thursday:My feet are doing better than last yr! we departed Barbadelo, where we finished yesterday, and walked to Portamarin about 18 km. On the walk we found Don Roberto on his knees at the foot of the cross. We passed the 100 km mark left to Santiago. We attended Mass in a 1000 yr old church. Wednesday: we began the day with breakfast in the Parador in VilleFranca. We then drove to the Benedictine monastery in Samos where we will begin our walk for the day. In route to Samos we stopped in o cebrio where St. Francis once visited the year 1214. Posted on October 18, 2012 by Karl Fillauer
